The Council of Engineers, Thailand (COE), proudly participated in the International Engineering Alliance Meetings 2025 (IEA 2025), held in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico from 9–13 June 2025, reinforcing Thailand’s commitment to global engineering excellence and international cooperation.
Representing the Council were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Quanchai Leepowpanth, Second Vice President of COE and Chair of the Monitoring Committee (MC), and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sutha Khaodhiar, Chair of the Subcommittee on TABEE. Their participation underlines Thailand’s proactive engagement on the global engineering stage. The meeting brought together key stakeholders from around the world to exchange best practices, harmonize standards, and shape the future of engineering education and professional mobility. Highlights of the discussions included:
🔹 Advancing Engineering Accreditation
Focus was placed on refining evaluation handbooks, exchanging best practices, and building shared understanding around curriculum quality assurance.
🔹 Promoting Engineer Mobility
Delegates shared case studies and discussed frameworks for international recognition of engineering qualifications and competencies.
🔹 Developing Substantial Equivalence Criteria
Participants explored evaluation approaches for systems in non-signatory economies aiming for recognition under global agreements.
🔹 Enhancing Stakeholder Engagement
Support for the Global Reach Initiative was emphasized to increase awareness and involvement across academia, industry, and regulatory bodies.
🔹 Modernizing Rules and Templates
Proposals were made to update procedural guidelines and documentation to align with evolving global needs and challenges.
