On Friday, September 12, 2025, the Council of Engineers Thailand successfully hosted the International Conference on Innovative Engineering Education 2025 at the Witsawapiwat Room, Council of Engineers, Bangkok. The event was presided over by Mr. Kittipong Weerapoprasit, President of the Council of Engineers Thailand, who warmly welcomed participants from both Thailand and abroad.
The conference was officially opened by Professor Emeritus Dr. Pansiri Phansuwan, Chairman of the Commission on Higher Education Standards, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI). In her keynote address, “Government Policies Related to Engineering Education and Accreditation”, she highlighted the pivotal role of public policy in elevating Thai engineering education to meet the rapidly evolving global landscape.
The event brought together leading international experts and representatives from renowned engineering organizations, including:
- Dr. Andrew Cleland (Engineering New Zealand)
- Prof. Lock Kai Sang (Chair, Washington Accord)
- Prof. Liang-Jenq Leu (President, IEET, Taiwan)
- Prof. Oh Yang Kwon (ABEEK, Korea)
- Dr. Mandy Liu (IEET, Taiwan)



These distinguished speakers shared valuable insights and experiences on critical topics, including Outcome-Based Education (OBE), Capstone Design Projects, and Sustainable Development, while also discussing pathways for Thailand to align its engineering education with international standards.





A key highlight of the afternoon session was the Panel Discussion on “Benchmarking Thai Engineering Education to Global Standards.” International experts exchanged perspectives on the strengths and challenges of Thailand’s engineering education system, followed by an inspiring showcase of Capstone Design Projects from Thai students. Constructive feedback from global experts provided both encouragement and new directions for the next generation of engineers.



The conference not only served as a dynamic platform for academic exchange and international collaboration but also marked a significant step forward in strengthening Thailand’s journey toward global recognition in engineering education equipping the nation to meet future challenges with confidence
