COET Leads ASEAN Cooperation through the “Engineer Internship and Exchange Program”

On 6 October 2025, the Council of Engineers, Thailand (COET), organized a public information meeting on the “ASEAN Engineer Internship and Exchange Program.” The meeting was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Quanchai Leepowpanth, First Vice President of the Council of Engineers and Chair of the Monitoring Committee on APEC and ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineers Registration.

The session also featured Assoc. Prof. Sarithdej Pathanasethpong, a Member of the Monitoring Committee, who shared further insights with representatives from corporate organizations to enhance their understanding and preparedness to participate as “Host Organizations” under the ASEAN cooperation framework. The meeting was held at the Council of Engineers Headquarters in Bangkok.

Thailand serves as the lead coordinating country for this initiative under the framework of the ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineers Coordinating Committee (ACPECC) and the Technical Working Group on Mobility of ASEAN Engineers (TWG-MAE). This initiative represents a significant milestone in advancing the international mobility and professional excellence of Thai engineers.

The program aims to provide young Thai engineers with valuable opportunities for professional internships, knowledge exchange, and collaborative projects with engineers from other ASEAN Member States. Ultimately, it will serve as a vital mechanism to strengthen the competence and global competitiveness of Thai engineering professionals while fostering a robust regional network of engineering cooperation across ASEAN.
