The Council of Engineers, Thailand (COET), participated in the Lancang–Mekong Engineers Forum held from 6–9 December 2025 in Kunming, People’s Republic of China, under the theme “Green Engineering and Sustainable Development in the Lancang–Mekong Region” 🌏
On 7 December 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Quanchai Leepowpanth, First Vice President of COET and Chair of the Monitoring Committee (MC), delivered the Opening Remarks. In his address, he highlighted Thailand’s commitment to advancing regional engineering cooperation and promoting sustainable development across the Lancang–Mekong region.
During the Keynote Session, Assoc. Prof. Sarithdej Pathanasethpong , Member of the Monitoring Committee, presented “Thailand Green/Smart Mining for Sustainability Report 2023–2025.” His presentation showcased Thailand’s approaches to green mining and smart technologies, offering practical insights into sustainable mineral resource development.
COET delegates also joined a workshop at Hang Lung Plaza , Kunming, to study Smart Building systems and Green Technologies. The knowledge gained from this session is expected to contribute to Thailand’s future smart-city development initiatives.’s future smart city development.
Participation in this forum reinforces COET’s role in strengthening regional collaboration and bringing advanced engineering knowledge and technologies back to support Thailand’s continued sustainable development.
