On 5 November 2025, the Council of Engineers, Thailand (COET), represented by Associate ProfessorDr. Quanchai Leepowpanth, 1st Vice President and Chairman of the Monitoring Committee (MC) for APEC and ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineers, joined the 13th ASEAN Competent Authority Committee on Surveying (ACACS) held in Nha Trang, Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. The ACACS serves as a regional cooperation platform under the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) on Surveying Services, which aims to promote the mutual recognition and mobility of professional surveyors among ASEAN Member States.

The meeting discussed each country’s progress in developing surveying engineering and reviewed the process of registering ASEAN Registered Surveyors (ARS). Members also worked on improving the Individual Assessment Statement (IAS) — a key document used to assess surveyor qualifications — to make it more consistent and comparable across the region.

This meeting highlighted COET’s active role as Thailand’s key professional engineering body responsible for regulating the surveying engineering field. Through cooperation with ASEAN partners, COET continues to enhance Thailand’s professional standards to meet international levels while strengthening regional partnerships, knowledge sharing, and best practices for the sustainable development of surveying engineering in Thailand and across ASEAN.
